A: Sapphire Lane Photography is based just north of Monument, Colorado and offers a dedicated in-home photography studio or travel options for all clients. We are happy to travel to both in-home and outdoor locations for sessions, proudly serving the Front Range of Colorado and traveling frequently to accommodate clients in the greater Philadelphia area.
Philadelphia, Allentown, Delaware Valley, and surrounding regions.
Monument, Colorado Springs, Castle Rock, Denver, and surrounding regions.
A: You will receive your fully edited digital image gallery within 2 weeks of your session. However, I tend to get really excited about our session and always try to get them back to you even sooner if I can!
A: If severe weather impacts an outdoor shoot, Sapphire Lane Photography offers flexible rescheduling with no additional fees. Alternatively, if previously discussed, we can transition the session to a pre-planned indoor backup location. We actively monitor weather forecasts and collaborate with clients 24 to 48 hours beforehand to finalize contingency plans.
For most portrait sessions, booking Sapphire Lane Photography about two weeks in advance is recommended to ensure calendar availability. Special milestone sessions require additional lead time for optimal preparation:
Booking at least two weeks in advance is recommended. If you have a highly customized theme in mind that requires specific props to be ordered, booking four weeks ahead is encouraged.
It is highly recommended to book during your second trimester. We understand that timelines and plans can change, but don’t worry—we are happy to adjust with you! Just book using your estimated due date and we will adjust the exact date seamlessly after your delivery.
A: The ideal time to schedule a newborn photography session is when your baby is between 7 and 14 days old. Typically, this is when babies are very sleepy and are easiest to safely pose. However, there is plenty of wiggle room with this timeframe, and we can absolutely capture beautiful pictures of your baby at any age!
A: Nope, I provide everything you need! If there is a specific sentimental item you want pictures with, you are welcome to bring it along. Otherwise, Sapphire Lane Photography has an extensive collection of wraps, props, and newborn outfits. *Coming soon* I will have a catalog of what I have in my newborn trunk!
A: Your baby’s safety is my absolute priority, and I am proud to have completed The Milky Way’s Newborn Safety Course, a comprehensive certification focused on the physiological needs of infants during a photoshoot. This training covers essential safety protocols, including:
Everything in the studio is completely sanitized prior to every session. If I am visiting your home for an in-home newborn session, everything I bring will be sanitized before I pack it up, and I will bring a space heater to ensure the shooting area is perfectly warm for your baby.
Understanding infant anatomy and proper airway protection.
Monitoring baby’s temperature, circulation, and subtle cues to ensure they remain comfortable.
Maintaining a sanitized studio environment and an ideal studio temperature between 80°F and 85°F for the baby’s comfort.
Utilizing composite editing techniques so your baby is never left unsupported during a complex pose.
Safe Posing:
A: The short answer is: please do not stress about it at all! I intentionally block off 2 to 3 hours for all newborn photography sessions so we have plenty of time for soothing, diaper changes, and nursing breaks. Sessions are completely baby-led. Once you are booked, I will send you a detailed preparation guide that covers exactly what to expect!
